Hundreds of years after the reunification of Spherus Magna, the Great Spirit Robot's former inhabitants reside alongside the Glatorian and Agori. It's a time of prosperity and wars of old now live in legend.

Far from the mainland lies Volkerra, a largely uncharted wilderness and home to the Volkari, comprised of a multitude of species. Their society centers on the careful harvest of mana, a rare and elusive substance which, in its raw state, drives the lands wildlife into unnatural aggression. Matoran are particularly suited to seeking out these deposits, working to restore a fragile natural balance in extracting them. The trade of its valuable processed form to the rest of Spherus Magna sustains these noble efforts and has, in turn, brought considerable wealth to the capital island city Volka Nui.

However, with these riches comes much unwanted attention, whether from raiders and pirates, or more organised threats like the Mekro-Guard and Netrahka. The Toa Volka are Volkerra's front line of defence from external threats; though powerful, their inexperience is evident, and this lands' fate still hangs in the balance.
