The Enclave is an island few Matoran, or even Toa, venture. All fauna, foliage and mana have been stripped away, leaving a barren rock with no organic life to speak of. Highly unusual, given that even the harshest panes of Dria and Motu contain at least traces of mana and beasts to call them home. 

Yet this absence of life does not mean an absence of danger. In the place of fauna, extremely hostile Vadrigar drones stalk the land and have done so for countless years, long before Volkerra's rediscovery. Attempts to chart the island have invariably ended in failure, with none returning, forcing observations to be made only from seafaring vessels stationed far enough away to remain undetected. From a distance, countless ruins are visible through the smog, with a towering ziggurat at the center of the island only just visible through the haze.
